Elaine Hawkins Life Skills Therapist, NeuroRestorative Tennessee
Grant Recipient, Multiple Sclerosis Society

Making a difference in the lives of others is just a part of Elaine Hawkins’ everyday “to do” list. Elaine provides support to her friends and members of the community who are affected by Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

Two years ago, Elaine began helping a local woman with MS whose daughter is a close friend of her daughter. Elaine started helping their family in any way that she could—running errands, going shopping, or helping the girls get to and from their school events and other activities.

Last April, Elaine gathered the residents and fellow staff members to participate in a fundraising walk benefiting the MS Society of Nashville. In the months leading up to the walk, Elaine spearheaded the group’s fundraising—organizing bake sales, a silent auction, and soliciting donations from the community and corporate sponsors. Together the team, who called themselves the “Mentor Mustangs” surpassed their fundraising goal and collected more than $700 for MS research.

The Nashville chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society will receive a $500 grant from The Foundation in honor of Elaine’s hard work and volunteer spirit.
